Mordrek and Ghost Knights

Love the models love the fluff. The daemon hammer is from the privateer press range of khador demo men. They are a 1.50 a pop so relatively cheap compared to other bitz. And they look AWESOME. I am really happy with how the ghost knights came out. It is really simple but looks the part. They really preformed at the tournament on saturday, look forward to getting more play testing in.

Dreadknight 1

Got my first dreadknight painted up. Really happy with how it came out. Waiting to do the other one until I have figured out how I want to paint swords. I found out later that I can only have one of each ranged weapon on each one. So i decided to run them both as Heavy Incinerator and swords. Worked out nicely in the last tournament so I look forward to further play testing.

Lots of updates pending

Well I misplaced my camera cable but don’t worry folks I have a bunch of stuff to post up here. It will be a smorgasborg of updates. Dreadknights, Interceptor squad progress, and even ghosts OOOOHHHOOOHHHH so scary. So stay tuned.

Storm Raven HOOOOOO!!!!

So finally bit the bullet and got a storm raven. I then proceeded to spend 3 hours building it and the next day 4 hours painting it/figuring out my grey knights color scheme. I could not get a silver I liked unit I mixed boltgun metal with a crap ton of adamantium black to get that nice dark silver that contrasts nicely with the other colors.

The base turned out REALLY well and that is the color that all of my bases are going to be painted

Painting up the deathwatch

So I managed to get most of the painting I needed to get done for the tournament this Saturday. Lots of detail work still to go but it has successfully reached the fuck it stage. Here is one of the Rhinos, the predator and my Chronas conversions painted up.

This weeks projects

So a large week coming up. Tournament in two weeks and spring break means a large amount of painting/converting to get done. So some done this week and lots done next week. Without further ado Here is my fifth grotesque, my chronos tank master for SM, my WIP webway portal and scourges. I also finished painting my Maly’s model and she has turned out to be a beast on the tabletop, she really needs two pain tokens to work though.

Grotesque project continued

Alright so I got really excited the last few days and decided to work on my grots some more. the battle suit has the liquifier fun and the tyranid warrior is the squad leader with either a scissor hand or a venom blade, I have not decided yet, need to read the rules some more. The third one is based on the old metal minotaur. Really simple on that one but hey its just some large primitive life form they found. From a planet whose lava flows form complicated paths with only one entrance and one exit.

My eventual plan is to make a full unit of 10. However I need to find more models to use. I want to try and not duplicate a basis for a model but that might be pushing it.

Grotesque project and Hero’s of the deathwatch

So this week I managed to complete stern and Start/Finish Pedro for my deathwatch list. I also began my grotesque creation project. Instead of going for the uniform look from the book, I took the story with the tau empire to heart and decided to make my grotesques from different factions. To this end I went through my collection and anything that started on a 40mm base was fair game. So my first grotesque is based on a broadside. I am showing him here pre green stuff so you can see the kind of stuff that I am going for. I plan to make 1-2 out of tyranid warriors and at least 1 out of a terminator. Sad part is that each will need to be painted individually when the time comes and so it is going to be very time consuming. O well the sacrifices we make.

Deathwatch – Compilation

So here is a re-post of all my Deathwatch Sternguard. They are all very much at what I like to call the “!@#$ it” detail stage. This is when they are relatively well painted(not so much in up close pictures) and would be satisfactory on the table top. However what they really need is detail work on a model by model basis. This is typically where I have been hunched over Bob Cratchit style for about 3 hours. At which point I throw down the paintbrush and declare “!@#$ it, i am done” hence the title. Naturally I plan to finish them in the near future….
